Hello lovely people! We are officially in spring! Yes, I said it so HAPPY NEW MONTH! 🙂 . The weather has been doing its own thing “kinda” but as far as I’m concerned winter is over and I’m so looking forward to sunshine.
The first giveaway competition is over and I shall be announcing the winner or winners? 🙂 probably in the next post. I hoping to do a giveaway on the awesome facebook community sometime soon so watch the space *wink*
Now today’s post is an experiment I did over the weekend. The peeling beans with a blender technique! I have heard of this before but never tried it.
I then saw Dooney’s demo on her blog Dooney’s Kitchen where she used brown beans I think so I decided to try it on the black eye beans I was gonna use to make moi moi. I thought it was a joke at first because I have always washed my beans like handwashing clothes lol and just could not imagine how a blender can be used. Hey, alas, it is soooo possible!
I give you the steps……
Boil some fairly hot water and soak the beans in it for few minutes to soften the skin
Pour a small quantity into the blender. Using the pulse mode which should be the symbol “P” on your blender……
Pulse at very shorter intervals. This will avoid blending beans instead of removing the skin!(I think I quickly learnt that after I did the first one, lol). Tip out into a large container and repeat until you have used up the beans
Wash the beans, draining off the skin. I repeated this process for about four more times and there you have it…..
It worked! So for those who do not believe, all I can say is try it 🙂
If you have tried it, please send in your feedback! I’m sure Dooney will like to know too
Enjoy the rest of the week and “keep making it happen”!
