Hooray! “The Fashionistas Giveaway” was a successful charity outing and ended on a high note! *thumbs up*. A large number of people turned up and volunteers were at their best! A huge thanks going out to all who supported this worthy cause in various ways! *big hugs*
Cakes rank among the best desserts, and it’s amazing how there are different types of cakes for different occasions, season etc. Some even bake cakes to reflect their mood at the time! crazy right? But I love it, bit like fashion “dress to reflect the mooood” lol
To celebrate the success of the outing, I thought a yummy choc chip cake will do just fine, “simply sweet on the inside and out” that just sums up the Fashionistas Giveaway Initiative in one word.
Well, this cake recipe is a simple one, especially for someone who probably has never baked a cake before! I have used the lean cake formula which just means that I have used less sugar than flour (let’s face it, too much sugar is not healthy) so, here goes…
160g self raising flour
80g caster sugar
40g choc chips or as desired
Strawberries or alternative fruit of your choice
Mix the sugar and butter in a mixing bowl
Mix thoroughly until pale and fluffy
Add to mixture, then add the flour and mix well. Add choc chips!
Place in a tin or baking mould (as I have used here) see www.siliconemoulds.com, and bake in a pre heated oven at 170 degrees for 15-20mins. Be sure to monitor the temperature as ovens work differently.
Sliced with some strawberries and double chocolate dip, NICE!
