Hello lovely people! It’s the weekend again!.
The month of August 2013 is over and will never come back. As we reflect on the past eight months, with some highs and maybe some lows, count your blessings each day and appreciate the gift of life no matter the circumstance/s.
I thought it nice to end the month with a lovely English teatime treat….. SCONES, simple yet rich tasting. What a combination *smiles*. I have done mine in a heart shape to say a BIG THANK YOU to all my readers *smiles*!
Pinch of salt
15g caster sugar
150ml/5fl oz butter milk (alternatively, you can use milk)
1 egg beaten to glaze (alternatively, you can use a little milk)
Mix together the flour and salt and rub in the butter.
Stir in the sugar and then the milk to get a soft dough.
Place on a clean floured work surface and knead very lightly. Using a heart shaped cutter (or any shaped cutter of your choice),cut out shapes and place on a baking sheet. Lightly knead together the rest of the dough and stamp out more scones to use it all up.
Brush the tops of the scones with the beaten egg and bake in a pre-heated oven @ 170C for about 15-20 minutes until well risen and golden. Remember to monitor the temparature of your oven)
I came across a video making waves on YouTube and MSN, a chicken shawama master preparing his delicacy like a ninja! N.I.C.E. I do hope someday I will be able to do a video of myself cooking like that lol enjoy
Hope your weekend is as relaxing as ever…….
Remember, whatever it is that motivates you, keep making it happen!
Wishing you a wonderful September!
