Hello lovely people and yes it’s the weekend yayyy. I am always excited, who isn’t? It’s time to spend time with the family after a busy week! Thank God for His mercies *smiles*
Ok, don’t get me wrong, I love every weather but I have to say, when the sun is out, everywhere comes alive and its a great time to try out some colldddd desserts.
I was going to make just vanilla ice cream with some sprinkled nuts but then the kids had the oatmeal cookies form last week and my son might just say “mummy, not nuts again”lol so I decide to make use of some fresh mangoes I got from visiting mum Omg! was that a good decision. The already sweet mango tasted so juicy in the vanilla, nice and cold! Perfecto! Yes, ice cream is so easy to make too. It took me about 10 minutes to make, plus another 10 minutes..ish for churning 🙂
500ml skimmed milk
40g caster sugar
75ml whole milk powder
4 drops of vanilla essence with seeds. However the essence with seed is optional.
Equipment: Ice cream maker (the main body was chilled for 24 hours before use as instructed in the manual)- you can get one from one from Amazon or ebay -cheaper 🙂
Pour the skimmed milk into a saucepan and add the caster sugar. Mix
Then add the powered milk and place under low heat, stirring to ensure that the sugar and powered milk dissolve without allowing the milk to boil. This is the most important part
Once, the milk is dissolve. Remove from heat. Allow to cool then add the vanilla essence and the chopped mango
Then pour in the ice cream maker (making sure that it is already churning before pouring the mixture)
Allow to churn for about 10- 15 minutes or depending on your desired texture / instruction for use
well I could have churned for longer but had to go out so poured it into a plastic small bowl and place in the freezer to freeze. After dinner, we relaxed to a cup of this- hmmm was absolutely delicious. Try it for the weekend by adding some fresh strawberries, oranges or even bananas 🙂
