Hello wonderful people! Happy new week!
The month of November is drawing to a close. Hope you’re getting your Christmas shopping together 🙂 I keep putting mine off, thinking I still gat time but I so know I haven’t!
Anyway, I felt the need to feature yet another inspiring charity which I believe my fashion lovers and bloggers will find extremely interesting 🙂 . Its the Fashion and Textile Children’s Trust based in the UK which has been running for over 150years! amazzzzing.
What I love from reading about this charity is the focus on disadvantaged children for people working in the fashion and textile industry who are facing financial crisis. This aim of the charity is to create some form of support to the children especially those coping with disabilites, special needs and illness. Its truly touching to read about the lives that have been blessed by this awesome charity! FCTC also supports the children educational by providing grants for extra curriculum costs, uniforms, therapies and much more http://www.ftct.org.uk/
Bola Obileye (who I must say is a wonderful and very talented fashionista) of www.totecollections.com writes:
I’m excitedly supporting The Fashion and Textiles Children Trust along with my son Tobi as I believe in the work of the charity. Over the years I have worked with many creatives and artisans in the fashion industry who have helped make my design dreams come true. These people are so talented and extremely skilled but often times they don’t get the pay or recognition they deserve yet they carry on doing what they love doing best. The fashion industry has often been described as a vocation but for many it is their bread and butter. A labour of love that doesn’t always translate to monetary gains and with families to support and mouths to feed it remains a tough industry especially when you work behind the scenes. Supporting the charity is my way of saying “Thank you” to the many talented skilled workers in the fashion industry working behind the scenes but who carry on making my dream and dreams of many designers come true by taking our designs and raw ideas from that first sample to production bearing the hallmark of quality and Great British Craftsmanship. God bless you and your families!
I definitely agree with Bola (and I know our fashion lovers out there will agree too) that the fashion industry is really one that strives to “make a mark” in our society today.
Bola and her son (who is 8years old) are saying a thank you to this charity by running an 8km DO IT FOR CHARITY SANTA RUN ( how sweet!) to raise funds this christmas. This is truly inspiring that an 8 year old will come out to support this worthy cause! Would it not be nice to give something back to those in need at such a time as this? Well I know for sure, its fulfilling to give back :). If you love looking good, and you are a supporter of a worth cause, then I’m sure you would like to support this charity cause ;). Please click this link to donate any amount! You will receive an appreciation message from the charity. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
On a lighter nooote, Bola has a lovely fashion collection I have admired for a few years now *wink*. Thanks to God, I met her showcasing her gorgeous creations at a public cultural event I attended and here were some of her work on display…
I particularly love the clutches. Check out her classics. I’m hoping to rock one for xmas! 🙂 Bola I know you are reading this lol
Check out the leather one too, so loving it for work *wink*
