Hello lovely people! It’s the second week of October month of health recipes. Hope you had a fab week as usual :).
Growing up, I always heard the word “table manners”, what to do or “not to do” at the dining table hence I wondered whether there is something like kitchen manners lol with general rules on dos and don’ts @ the kitchen corner … Well I have come with mine *smiles* seeing as I love the kitchen that much hehehe.
TRAYCEES 10 KITHCHEN MANNERS 🙂
v Always wash your hands before you commence cooking
v Cook with an apron or some form of covering over your outfit
v Handle every kitchen tool or equipment with absolute caution (some tools are accidents waiting to happen!)
v Cook in a tidy kitchen environment (trust me it makes cooking far easier and more fun)!
v Clean as you go – You certainly don’t want piles of things to wash after cooking (I learnt this attitude from my sweet mum!)
v Taste your own cooking as you go along (if it tastes good to you, it will taste good to others)*smiles*
v When you taste food, don’t put same spoon back into the pot- THINK KITCHEN MANNERS
v Multi tasking in the kitchen? Though very good and saves time, it’s not for everyone!- Plan and work at your own pace if you have to, ITS THE END RESULT THAT MATTERS MOST…..
v Don’t talk on the phone while cooking… even though I wrote this, I’m still guilty myself. I guess old habits die hard…
ANY OTHERS YOU CAN THINK OF? Ah yes, KEEP READING & COMMENTING on www.traycees.info! LOL
Now on to this week’s healthy recipe
PREP TIME: approx 20mins
COOKING TIME: 30mins approx.
Chicken drumsticks or breasts
Two cloves of Garlic
One scotch bonnet pepper (for some heat)
Chicken seasoning (Knorr or any other type of chicken seasoning)
Salt to taste
The key ingredients….
Cut fairly large sized finger shaped carrots
Place chicken in a pot, add the chopped garlic, ginger, onions, chopped leek, carrots and chicken seasoning. Boil for at least 15mins for chicken to be fairly cooked.
Then add green peas, and chopped pepper (scotch bonnet). Allow to cook for another 10mins approx (by this time, chicken is just about cooked). Remove from heat.
Remove the drumstick. Skin off and cut the chicken into small bits (N.B: This process will not be applicable if skinless chicken breast is used instead of drumsticks). I only used drumsticks because that was what I had in my freezer *smiles*
Return pot to heat. Add then cut chicken bit and chopped mushrooms. Cook for approx 5mins
Finally, add the shredded spinach and remove from heat (you don’t want the spinach overcooked)!
Tastes soooo gooood
can serve with some roast potatoes….I made some earlier, multi tasking 🙂
Have a great weekend!
Remember, keep making it happen!
