Now, this is a short, unusual but interesting post so please stay gluedddd…….
Hello hello hello! Thank you as always for taking time to read. I hope your week has been fruitful so far and continue to wish you more productive weeks ahead!
This topic was inspired from a chat I had with a friend recently and I decided to blog it different.
Since the early part of the year, I have been quite interested in understanding how our attitude influences us, our environment and our cooking! It was what inspired me to write the “Kitchen Etiquette” eBook in the first place.
What really is the difference between a creative cook and an everyday cook? Well some may not be bothered either/or, after all, the end product is food. Hmmm, I should really throw this question out to all the foodies I know and get comments back 😀
Well, here are my comparisons and I will tell you why at the end so please keep reading…..
|A Creative Cook …..||An Everyday Cook|
|Does not cook the same way or method everyday||Tends to cook usually the same way everyday|
|Feels cooking is important, recognises it as a norm however, always looking to do some things differently||Also feels cooking is important, it’s the norm….So why do it differently??|
|Enjoys his/her kitchen environment and is happy to spend more time in it||Also enjoys his/her kitchen but in a slightly different way-cook the food straight up and leave the kitchen nice and tidy. That’s not a bad thing is it? 🙂|
|Does not find cooking boring because there is always a new method, flavour or technique to introduce in their cooking||Could sometimes find it boring because the cooking method has stayed the same, the choice of food has stayed the same- ok what should change?|
|Likes to “spice up” his/her cooking because they like to experiment and they tend to have a wider pallet for different foods?||Hmm, uses spices, yes-Well the ones they are happy with . AFTERALL, we don’t all have to have a varied pallet?|
|Sometimes take a “risk” with their cooking? How… ehm mixing unusual flavour. Now that can make a difference between disaster or sumptuous||Takes NO risk, better to play safe|
|Is your everyday cook who has gone up the next level||Could later become a creative cook- Now I like this….|
The beauty of these two types of cooks is that they are the same. Yes, they are, the basic thing being they both enjoy cooking and I so know someone out there reading this post would have said on seeing the post title“of course I know the difference, the creative cook, is the better cook”.
Well, what I can really say as the major difference is their individual approach to cooking and timing.
A creative cook was once an everyday cook in the previous level but I have to say, it makes all the difference to be able to sometimes do things differently from the norm, it’s the added spice in life 🙂
A good cook is one who has the right approach at the right time, and for the right reasons, balancing both techniques obviously . I consider myself a combination of the two as I tend to balance it nicely 🙂 where necessary. I rest my case……
Which one of the two are you? 🙂
Remember, keep influencing your environment positively and keep making it happen!
Blessings and love
